Atlantic Station will soon undergo a big expansion, according to a report in Atlanta magazine. New projects will include Atlantic Yards, an office/retail building; T3 Foundry Park, “creative offices” geared toward the tech sector; a 364-unit apartment building from AMLI; and a new Embassy Suites Hotel. Other changes coming to the West Midtown development include a revamp of Central Park and upgrades to the Regal Cinema, including a 4DX cinema that mixes amusement park thrills with the movie-going experience. There will also be upgrades to some storefronts (including a new facade for H&M), plus more new restaurants and retail to be announced soon.
Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms has announced that Marva Lewis will serve as her chief of staff. In this role, Lewis will provide advice and guidance to the mayor on legislative and policy issues and serve as a liaison to the public and private sectors in fostering partnerships and the development of revenue generating initiatives. The Office of the Chief of Staff also provides supervision and policy direction over external affairs and international relations, constituents services, communications and human services, as well as special events and special projects. Prior to joining the City of Atlanta, Lewis served as Vice President of Human Resources for Cousins Properties. She also served as Global HR Initiatives Leader for Equifax Inc.
The 2018 Progressive Insurance Atlanta Boat Show is dropping anchor at the Georgia World Congress Center Jan. 18-21 Tickets are on sale now at AtlantaBoatShow.com.
