TLC, Jeezy and Tyrese will headline the Peach Drop as it moves from Underground Atlanta to Woodruff Park to ring in 2018.
According to city officials, Woodruff Park will open to the public at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday night and entertainment will begin at 7 p.m. There will be access points to the Downtown park at Auburn Avenue and Park Place, Edgewood Avenue and Park Place, Peachtree Street and Edgewood Avenue and Peachtree Street and Walton Street. Parking will be very limited so revelers are encouraged to take MARTA to the Five Points or Peachtree Center stations.
Atlanta Police will be closely monitoring the celebration and there will be heavy security for the event. There will be bag searches conducted at the access points and a clear bag policy will be in place. Food and alcohol will be sold inside the park venue, but no outside food or alcohol can be brought in to it. Other prohibited items include: Chairs, coolers, firearms, umbrellas, drones, pets, bicycles, hoverboards and skateboards.
With the Peach Drop’s former home at Underground Atlanta being transformed into a mixed-used development, the giant peach will now descend from the historic Flatiron Building. .
The Peach Drop been a tradition at Underground for nearly 30 years, often drawing up to 100,000 spectators.
