Benefit for Georgia Shakespeare set for Sept. 22

27130591-e522-480d-876b-e9732c42304dA benefit for Georgia Shakespeare called “O For a Muse of Fire” will be emceed by WABE’s Cafe City host John Lemley on Sept. 22. The theatre company recently announced it was canceling its production of “Henry V” due to lack of funds and the future of the organization was also in jeopardy.

The evening will features performances from Atlanta artists, along with highlights from Georgia Shakespeare’s 29 years of productions. Artists confirmed for performances so far include Chris Kayser, Carolyn Cook, Park Krausen, Travis Smith, Joe Knezevich, Tess Malis Kincaid and Brik Berkes.

The performance will begin at 7:30 p.m. with the picnic grounds at the Conant Performing Arts Center at Oglethorpe University opening at 6 p.m. Concessions and merchandise will be on sale, along with drawings for great prizes. The cost is $100 per person and tickets are available at this link.
