Public Safety Briefs: 22 cars broken into in Grant Park & more

The Atlanta Police Department is investing the break in and vandalism of 22 cars at the Roosevelt Apartments in Grant Park. The incident occurred overnight Monday at the gated community, according to a report from the AJC. Windows were broken out and items including iPods, cellphones, blank checks and vehicle titles were stolen. The APD reminds drivers to remove all valuable items from cars to help deter thieves.

Two days after a man punched a woman and stole her Mercedes at a parking garage in the Edgewood Retail Distirct, a car matching the description was used in a robbery on East Lake Boulevard, according to a report at Decaturish. For more about the incident at Edgewood, click this link.

“Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Apollo Nida was sentenced to eight years in prison yesterday. According to our media affiliate CBS46, Nida, 35, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit bank fraud and wire transfer. He is married to “Housewives” cast member Phaedra Parks.
