Krog Street Market announces first seven tenants

The Krog Street Market development at the corner of Krog and Irwin streets in Inman Park has announced its first seven tenants. The market, expected to open later this year, will be food-driven as evidenced by the signing of leases by noted chefs Ford Fry and Eli Kirshtein.

The market is just one part of a $70 million project being led by Paces Properties, which announced late last year that it had purchased nine acres of prime real estate bounded by the Atlanta Beltline, Edgewood Avenue and Irwin Street. The property includes the Stove Works – home to Rathbun’s Restaurant and Krog Bar.

The market will be housed in the former soundstages formerly owned by movie mogul Tyler Perry at the corner of Krog Street and Lake Avenue. The 1920s era building was the warehouse for the Atlanta Stove Works, which once manufactured cast iron stoves.

Here’s the rundown of the seven tenants and the concepts:

Chefs Ford Fry and Kevin Maxey
Concept: Mex-Tex inspired restaurant with a casual and lively atmosphere influenced by Fry’s Texan roots
Stats: 5,100-square-feet restaurant with outdoor/covered patio
Comment: “Krog Street Market is a groundbreaking idea – to have an epicurean destination is certainly something my team and I wanted to be a part of from the start. I think it will be a key “go-to” area for city dwellers who want a safe spot to walk around and enjoy.” – Chef Ford Fry

Chef Eli Kirshtein 
Concept: The Luminary, an American-Brasserie, with regionalized and updated bistro fare.
Stats: 3,400-square-foot restaurant with outdoor/covered patio

The Spotted Trotter
Concept: Full American Butchery, Charcuterie & Cheese Shop
Stats: 800-square-feet
Comment: “Since Nov. 2011 we continue to build off the success of our flagship location in Kirkwood, Atlanta. At KSM we will provide the finest in New American charcuterie through our butcher shop and an extensive selection of local cheeses that will make Atlanta proud! TST’s goal is to establish the South as a leader in the art form of charcuterie. Grand Champion BBQ
Concept: Award-Winning Barbeque Experience

French Market Florist
Concept: Fresh flowers and floral offerings
Stats: 400-square-feet

Pannus Bakery
Concept: International Bakery specializing in Hispanic and European pastries, baked goods and gourmet products
Stats: 400-square-feet

For many months, I searched for that “perfect” location for Pannus until I found it at Krog Street Market. The Collective
Concept: Home & Garden, Vintage, Local Arts, Gifts
Stats: The Cottage, an adaptive reuse of a 1,050-square-foot home, is located at corner of Lake/Waddell and detached from KSM. The Collective is moving from its location on Elizabeth Street for the new mixed-use development there.
