Kitchens On Parade

Fourteen show-stopping kitchens decorated by Atlanta’s most celebrated and award-winning designers will be on this year’s Junior League of Atlanta Tour of Kitchens on Saturday and Sunday, March 25-26.

The ninth annual tour will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. The tour will be self-guided through stunning kitchens in some of Atlanta’s most prestigious neighborhoods, including Buckhead, Dunwoody, Inman Park, Morningside and Vinings.

Visitors will see some of the latest innovations in kitchen design in homes featuring architectural styles from modern to traditional. Tour of Kitchens special events will include cooking demonstrations by Atlanta chefs Guenter Seeger of Seeger’s, Pano I. Karatassos of Kyma, Carvel Grant Gould of Canoe and Scott Serpas of TWO. urban licks.

The Tour of Kitchens event is the Junior League of Atlanta’s largest annual fundraiser and attracts more than 1,200 attendees each year, while raising more than $100,000.

According to Mary Mundy, Junior League Atlanta president, "Beautifully designed kitchens and exciting special events provide a wealth of design ideas, as well as a fun way to spend a weekend. We are proud that the continued success of this event allows us to train our membership for effective community service as well as to financially aid the programs of our community partners."

Tickets are $25 per person (advance purchase), and a limited number of tickets will be available for $35 during the tour. All tickets are good for both days, and group ticket discounts are also offered. Tour tickets are available at metro retailers, which are listed on the organization’s Web site, www.jlatlanta.org/tok.

The public is also invited to attend the Toast of the Tour party, an annual kick-off event celebrating the Tour of Kitchens, on Thursday, March 16, at 7 p.m., at Ferguson Bath & Kitchen Gallery on Miami Circle. Last year’s Toast was a sellout with more than 700 in attendance. There will be music, food from Eclipse di Luna and live and silent auctions. Tickets to the party are $35 and must be reserved in advance.
