MARTA now has free Wi-Fi on all buses and trains. The new connection allows riders to browse the web, send e-mails, read eBooks, and connect to social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter.
Passengers can connect by going to Wi-Fi settings on their device and selecting the network name based the rail car number or bus (e.g. MARTA_Rail_Guest_673 or MARTA_Bus_Guest). Then just review and accept the terms and conditions to connect to the internet. If you move from bus to train or from one railcar to another, you will need to re-open your settings and select the proper Wi-Fi network.
Wi-Fi Lite relies on cellular-based technology and speeds will vary throughout the route. Downloading large files or streaming video is prohibited due to limited bandwidth.
MARTA is also expanding Wi-Fi and cellular services to include all 38 rail stations. Installation has been completed at Five Points, Peachtree Center, and Dome Stations. MARTA Mobility vehicles will have access by mid-year.
As with any Wi-Fi source, our riders are asked to be cautious about transactions performed and information they choose to share.
Customers are encouraged to download MARTA’s On-The-Go app for up-to-date service information and schedule changes.
