It’s going to be a busy weekend on the Atlanta BeltLine’s Eastside Trail as thousands converge for the annual Lantern Parade that opens Art on the BeltLine and the Old Fourth Ward Fall Fest.
The festival will be held at Historic Fourth Ward Skatepark on Friday, Sept. 8, from 5 to 11 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 9, from noon to 11 p.m. The Atlanta BeltLine Partnership and Rival Entertainment are presenting the free festival in conjunction with the Lantern Parade, which drew more than 70,000 participants last year.
The festival features live local music, food trucks, a DIY lantern making area, a kids’ play area, Whole Paws Pet Zone, an artist and business market and more. The festival’s prime location along the Eastside Trail makes it the ideal place to view the Lantern Parade, which steps off at 8:15 p.m. on Saturday from the southern end of the Eastside Trail at Irwin Street.
Attendees are encouraged to walk, cycle, run or take public transportation to festival and Lantern Parade. For those driving to the event, please use private lots or public parking in areas that have access to the Eastside Trail. Event parking is not permitted on Willoughby Way or Ashley Avenues.
