Hurricane Harvey Briefs: Gas prices rise; Humane Society donations; storms possible

The AJC reports that gas prices across metro Atlanta are on the rise after two major gas pipelines were closed in the wake of Hurricane Harvey. Price for regular was nearing $3 at some metro stations, while there is already concerns about gasoline shortages. In other words, this might be a good day to fill up your tank.

The Atlanta Humane Society has already taken in some animals made homeless after Hurricane Harvey hit Texas. Now volunteers are headed to the Gulf Coast to help rescue animals and donations are needed. You can make a donation at atlantahumane.org.

The remnants of Hurricane Harvey is bringing heavy rain to Atlanta today and strong storms are possible later this afternoon, according to WSB-TV. Drive safely, folks, and keep an eye on the weather.
